About the role

We are looking for a mid level designer to join our Cascade marketing team. Someone that loves the little details, the big picture, and gets a kick out of clearly communicating concepts through visual communication. We are after an individual who has solid design skills and understands how to take a brief, some content, or ideas and turn them into clean, clear, engaging designs for our presentations, reports and articles, ads across social media, events, and other collateral to support our customer success teams. It’s an exceptional opportunity to be a part of a large team and growing company. Cascade is a great place to flex and grow your design skills. You will be creating work that will have a big impact for your lovely team members, and positively influence the brand of our growing organisation.

We’re looking for someone who can

  • Create well designed, engaging and consistent presentations within Canva and Google Slides
  • Design creative, on brand ads across social media, predominantly linked in and facebook
  • Create clear creative that in some cases is conveying complicated ideas.
  • Carry a project from concept through to completion
  • Work collaboratively across the team but can also tackle projects independently.

The ideal candidate should have the following

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with a strong emphasis on InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
    • Must understand correct use of paragraph styles, character styles, and good design habits in indesign. We create many studies and reports that have lots of graphs, charts, imagery, icons and copy that need to look sharp, engaging and consistent across potentially 100's of pages, so a strong understanding of large document design within InDesign is important.
    • Photoshop skills do not need to be expert, but you should know your way around
  • Proficiency in Figma (nothing too fancy but you will need to know your way around)
  • A good portfolio, does not need to be huge, we just need to see those skills.
  • Have strong understanding of typography, colour and design layout
  • Can follow guidelines, but still maintain imagination and creativity while being sympathetic to the brand.
  • Passionate about design and a strong eye for detail, consistency and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Work efficiently, proactively getting briefs and feedback to be clear on the direction and minimise rounds
  • Enjoy working and collaborating with a good team.
  • Not required but nice to have would be someone who can illustrate, nothing overly complex, ideally a line art style.

What’s in it for you?

  • A freelance or full time role in our high growth, well capitalised scale-up with a huge runway to define your progression with Cascade.
  • Flexible hours, and whilst a Sydney candidate would be perfect, remote is very ok with us. Our team are located all around the world and we work well like this.
  • You get to be a contributor to our awesome team, we love nothing more than working with clever people who love what they do, and when we find someone we like, we do what we can to give them what they need to create their best work and be happy while doing it.
  • Have the freedom to own your role and produce meaningful moments from your creations for our users.
  • Some off these designs will be seen by millions of people, doesn’t that make you feel all warm and fuzzy?

Sounds like the sort of role for you?
