The teams within your organization can use all these focus areas in this template and incorporate the chosen approaches into your policies and procedures to completely solve all sustainable problems.

1. Define clear examples of your focus areas

This specific template uses the areas of focus as the four pillars of sustainability making it easier to understand the core requirements needed to create a more sustainable organization. 

Examples of strategic focus areas that could fall under a Sustainability Plan could be Environmental, Social, Economical, Cultural.

2. Think about the objectives that could fall under that focus area

Goals and objectives are necessary to make strides in any required direction. You can then implement strategies to achieve these goals. 

Examples of a couple of strategic objectives for this Sustainability plan could be Achieve record revenue and improve company margins; Deliver great customer value with improved quality; Reduce overall emissions produced by the organization and Strengthen corporate culture (just to name a few).  

3. Set yourself measurable targets (KPIs) to tackle the objective

KPIs are the measures that hold you accountable. Setting up KPIs helps your team and you know how you want to measure and accordingly achieve your goals. The ability to track and monitor your performance through these measurable indicators can hold you accountable and make you more motivated. 

Examples of KPIs for the Objective Achieve record revenue and improve company margins could be: Double profitability and revenue; Increase gross profit margin; Increase year over year growth.

4. Implement related projects to achieve the KPIs

Whilst, KPIs help measure the how of strategy; setting up projects can show you what needs to be done in order to reach those KPIs and achieve your end objectives. 

Examples of projects that could fall under this Sustainability plan could be: Have a meeting with every VP about the new process; Collect regular customer feedback; Review all budgeting processes before mid Q3; Conduct quarterly employee social events and Actively monitor customer health (just to name a few).
