What is a Sales Plan?

A sales plan outlines the desired sales goals and objectives for a business, and the strategies and tactics that will be employed to achieve them. It provides a roadmap for sales teams to follow in order to reach their goals and is an essential part of any successful sales process. It can help to keep focus and ensure that all team members are working towards the same objectives. It is important to keep in mind that a sales plan should be flexible and able to adapt to changes in the market.

  • 3 focus areas
  • 6 objectives
  • 6 projects
  • 6 KPIs

Who is the Sales Plan template for?

This sales plan template is designed for sales teams in various industries. It can be used to develop a comprehensive sales plan that will help to achieve sales targets, increase revenue, and gain a competitive advantage. The template consists of five main sections: defining focus areas, setting objectives, setting measurable targets (KPIs), implementing related projects, and utilizing the Cascade Strategy Execution Platform.

1. Define clear examples of your focus areas

When defining your focus areas, it is important to be specific. Think about the areas that are most important to your business, such as increasing sales, increasing efficiency, and increasing customer retention. These will be the foundation for the rest of your sales plan.

2. Think about the objectives that could fall under that focus area

Once you have identified the focus areas, think about the relevant objectives that could be accomplished under each one. These objectives should be measurable and achievable. Examples of some objectives for the focus area of Increase Sales could be: Increase New Customers, and Increase Average Sale Amount.

3. Set measurable targets (KPIs) to tackle the objective

Setting measurable targets (KPIs) is an important step in creating an effective sales plan. These targets should be specific and realistic, and should be linked to each objective. For example, under the objective “Increase New Customers”, a KPI could be “Increase Number of New Customers”, with an initial target of 10 and a desired target of 30.

4. Implement related projects to achieve the KPIs

Once you have set measurable targets, it is time to determine the projects that need to be implemented to meet those targets. For each KPI, identify the action that needs to be taken in order to achieve it. For example, under the KPI “Increase Number of New Customers”, an action could be to “Launch Digital Advertising Campaign”.

5. Utilize Cascade Strategy Execution Platform to see faster results from your strategy

Cascade is a strategy execution platform that helps sales teams create and track goals, objectives, and projects. It can help to ensure that all team members are on the same page and working towards the same objectives. Cascade can also provide real-time visibility into progress and performance, helping to ensure that teams are able to track and measure their progress and stay on track to reach their goals.
